Multi-client Studies
Ziff Energy's multi-client initiatives involve work on behalf of a group of clients with similar operations
in one particular region/basin (e.g. the Permian Basin/West Texas region). Typically these multi-client
initiatives address both uptime reliability and operating cost diagnostic benchmarking. Often they will also
include identification of best practices in one or more practice areas (e.g. well servicing or automation).
Each client contributes information on their fields (cost data and practices information) and this information
from all clients is analyzed concurrently to provide each client with benchmarks for each of their fields based
upon data for similar fields in the study.

2012 U.S. Gas Shale Basin Production Operations Study

 | Gas Shale resources are becoming the “new conventional” gas supply, and improving the efficiency of their production operations will become increasingly important. It is not easy to identify which operating cost areas offer the greatest potential for reduction and meaningful savings, and whether field operations are operating at maximum uptime.
Ziff Energy’s analysis will focus on:
- COST - for each gas shale basin, compare, on a blinded basis, unit operating costs, by operator: the total and by (standardized) detailed cost category.
- UPTIME - assess the production efficiency of each operator in each gas shale basin, and identify production improvement targets.

Bakken Oil Shale Operations Benchmarking

 | This study will help you reduce your drilling costs by enhancing your drilling performance and efficiency and contribute to a lower Finding & Development cost. We will measure your drilling and completion costs relative to other operators in the study and provide your drilling and completions team with factual data that pinpoints high costs, compared to similar wells, and to assist in reducing the costs of future wells. As part of this work, Ziff Energy will also focus on best practices related to key challenging areas of Bakken Oil Shale: Expensive Drilling, and Completion Efficiency.
A “Production Reliability” analysis will also be performed. The main objective of this deliverable is not only to define the gaps between current practices versus best practices, but to delineate practical recommendations to enhance operating efficiency.
