Attendees and speakers represented over 40 companies,
including Super-Majors, Independents and National Oil Companies, from 15
countries on 6 continents. Several operators at the last seminar
enlarged their delegations this year. Attendance increased 30%
over our 2006 seminar.
On Day 2, Dr. Don Paul, long-time Chief Technology Officer at Chevron, and a former Client
of Ziff, gave a special lunch address on "Future Supplies of Oil --- the
Next Decades." His speech was very “outside the box” for the operations
personnel at the seminar, and insightful for the future. The
participants recognized Dr. Paul with the highest feedback ratings ever
received by a Ziff Energy seminar speaker.
Ziff Energy Group has long supported energy
education, to contribute to the future of the energy sector.
Since the start of the Operations Excellence
Seminars in 2005, the firm has invited full time Graduate Engineering
Students to participate in the Seminar, at no cost. Students invited
were initially from the Houston area, then from US Southwest
universities, and most recently in the Western US & Canada. This year,
4 students participated as our guests.
I’m sure you will welcome them into our industry!!
For the 4th Operations Excellence
Event, which is under construction, any full time post-grad Engineering student
worldwide will be eligible for a Seminar Scholarship. If your
company has a relationship with a University Engineering faculty in your
region, we would welcome you to pass along this information, and their
contact information to us.
