Natural Gas Supply in North America
Date: July 2004 - 9 pages
Ziff Energy's North American gas supply outlook to 2015 reviews production from each major region with a focus on Western Canada, the U.S. Rockies, and the Gulf of Mexico. Traditional North American basins are maturing and the outlook for gas production is flat to declining, so other frontier supplies are required if growing North American gas demand is to be met. Ziff Energy expects recent gas production declines to flatten somewhat, reflecting stronger drilling activity resulting from robust gas prices. However, record drilling is needed just to maintain the status quo, and non-traditional resources, including LNG, are essential.
